Week of February 17-21st
For starters, I hope all the students enjoyed the Sadie Hawkins Dance on Saturday. I can't wait to return and see all the pictures!
Which leads me to my next topic: Why Mrs. Hemken has been absent all week. While walking the dog, I slipped on ice, hit my head, had a seizure, then blacked out. Yikes! It was pretty scary, and the dog just left me there, I don't remember walking back to the house, but apparently I did because the next thing I remember is being carted out of my house on a stretcher by an ambulance crew. Several cat scans later, I am ok. I have a pretty intense concussion and lots of stiff sore limbs.
I am so sorry for missing so much school. I know that you guys are dying to dive into your annotations of Lord of the Flies and I am sure you have so many insights, symbols, and themes to discuss! Please be patient hold your discussions until I return.
For this week, all students should finish reading chapters 7 and 8. There will be not quiz however, students are expected to complete the Fight or Flight sheets that I have attached. These are due on Monday. I am hoping to return to work on Friday of this week. We will discuss the readings, go over any major plot developments, and then work on finishing Fight or Flight for Monday.
